Mr. Burns and his thin assistant Smithers stand together against a dark blue night backdrop

What happens

Mr. Burns, the frail, hook-nosed old man with blue tufts of grey hair at the sides and a grey suit with red tie, and his thin assistant Smithers, with glasses and a pink bow tie under a brown coat, stand together against a dark blue night backdrop. Smithers grips a long-handled shovel while Burns scowls, glances down, and then breaks into a wide, sinister grin in a close-up, before the scene shifts to a pink floating brain drifting over a bare, twisted tree and pale grave-like shapes in the dark blue sky while Smithers' bow tie and the shovel blade remain in the foreground.
