What happens

Two green, one-eyed aliens with spotted heads, seated behind wooden podiums on a columned stage draped in red, white and blue bunting, with Homer in a white shirt and blue pants standing between them. The aliens sit or gesture with their tentacle-like arms and drool, and thin wires dangle from above them, while a large crowd of townspeople watches. In the final close-up, the crowd members look on with frowns and open mouths, including a blue-haired man in a dark suit and a woman with a white beehive-style hairdo.
