What happens

Maggie, Bart and Lisa Simpson hurry across a dim attic with wooden floors and tattered curtains over purple-lit windows, Maggie holding a small green lantern with a lit candle and Bart and Lisa looking alarmed. Behind them a large dark hairy figure in a purple robe lunges toward them, with a chain trailing on the floor. The scene then cuts to a blank grey screen with faint sketchy marks, and finally to a bright, sketchy grid-like background where Bart and Lisa, looking startled, are seen running with a flash of a burning fuse-like spark near a small dark object.
