What happens

A bright red, spiky-eared cartoon fox-like creature, a dream spirit, stands on a pale blue-and-pink platform beneath a purple sky with dark twisted shapes, and Homer, bald and yellow-skinned in his white shirt, is seen from behind on the left. The creature first stares up with a sly, sideways look, then turns toward Homer with its mouth open as if speaking, then glances upward with wide eyes and a toothy grin, and finally looks off to the side with its mouth open mid-speech, its pink-lined arm raised. Its sharp white teeth and orange tongue are visible throughout, and the background shows a starry dark-blue sky in the first frame.
