What happens

Kent Brockman, the grey-haired news anchor in a red jacket and blue tie, reads from a sheet of paper at a desk on a television screen, and a glowing green alien with big round eyes first appears on that screen, arms outstretched, against a wavy psychedelic swirl pattern. A question-mark poster showing flying saucers hangs behind him, and then the scene cuts to the living room, where Marge stands tall with her blue beehive, Maggie in her blue bow and pacifier stands at the bottom left, and Homer sits on the couch beside Bart and Lisa, who sit with their arms crossed as they watch the TV, with a lamp, a telephone and a sailboat painting on the wall.
