What happens

Bart, the spiky-haired boy in an orange shirt, approaches a purple-shuttered house carrying a letter addressed from the First Church of Springfield to Mr. Mitchell, 57 Mt. Auburn Street. He ducks behind a hedge and white fence, peeks out, then sneaks along the sidewalk and sprays a garden hose at Santa's Little Helper, the brown greyhound with a red collar, who sits by a chain-link fence and gets soaked with water.
