Barney sits at the bar in front of a red-and-green diamond-patterned wall and a glass of beer
The Simpsons, “Homer's Enemy” (season 8, episode 23), 9:42–9:51
What happens
Barney, the heavy drunk with messy brown hair and a pink open-collared shirt, sits at the bar in front of a red-and-green diamond-patterned wall and a glass of beer. He holds up a sheet of paper, looking at it with squinting, bleary eyes, then reads it with his mouth open. In the later frames he points at the paper with his finger and raises his eyebrows in surprise, his mouth open as if speaking. The paper is covered with horizontal lines of writing.
