What happens

A stooped, thin old man in a green suit bends over to drape a pink and purple lei around a yellow-skinned girl in an orange sari at a backyard party beside a wooden fence, with a table of cookies and glasses behind them. A man in a blue suit with a red bow tie and grey hair at the sides then walks in, stands gesturing and pointing while the girl holds the lei, and a spiky-haired boy in a white tunic and red pants joins them. The man clutches his bow tie and waves his hand while the boy listens, with a striped pole, a flower-covered box and a pile of plates on the scene.
