What happens

Homer, in a white sailor cap and black-collared sailor suit, talks and grins in a crowded group of sailors, with Marge (tall blue beehive, green sweater, red beads) behind him and a dark-skinned man (Carl) in the front row beside a pale, grey-haired man at the lower left and a brown-haired man at the right. Homer's mouth opens and closes as he talks, and in the later frames he squints and raises his arm near Carl's shoulder as the crowd stays packed together. The scene then cuts to an aerial view of the Springfield Mall, a pink building with the sign on its side, with the Hailstone's store beside it, and cars and a white delivery truck moving slowly through the parking lot and roundabouts.
