The Simpsons, “Simpson Tide” (season 9, episode 19), 15:55–16:06
What happens
No regulars or other characters appear; the scene shows only a pale lavender submarine with a faint 'USS Jefferson' marking on its hull moving through deep blue water. The sub glides diagonally across the screen, leaving a trail of small bubbles as it heads toward the upper right, then the picture fades to black. When the image returns, the sub is seen in close-up as it passes along the hull's side, then turns and travels across the water until it slides off the edge of the screen.
