What happens

Homer Simpson, bald with a white shirt and seatbelt, sits at the wheel of a pink car on a wooded road, his eyes drooping and head nodding as he drives through the night. He slowly loses alertness, with his eyes closing and his head drooping toward the wheel, before the scene cuts to a point-of-view view of the road ahead, where a ghostly, translucent figure with white hair stands in the middle of the lane, arms raised, and the car's headlight beam, shown as an orange line, reaches toward it under a purple starry sky. The road has white guardrails on both sides and trees line the shoulders.
