What happens

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie gather in the pink living room of the Simpson house, with Homer holding up a single envelope. The first frames are black and the sequence opens on an exterior view of the house with its red chimney, arched windows and orange garage door. Inside, Bart sits on the brown couch while Homer, holding the envelope, speaks; then Marge, Lisa and Bart stand close around him, Bart clutching the letter and a potted plant nearby. The family cluster beside the television and a lamp, with credits such as 'Co-Executive Producer' and the producer names appearing across the lower part of the screen.
