After Homer gets Mayor Quimby and Mark Hamill safely out of a riot at a science-fiction convention, Quimby hires him as a bodyguard. That makes the mayor a mob target, and Fat Tony and Louie go after him at a dinner-theater staging of Guys and Dolls.

The bat-man holds the bat across his chest and gestures with it as Homer grimaces, then raises the bat overhead while spreading his other hand, before lowering it to his side as Homer stands wide-eyed and uneasy. Homer is left alone in the room, which has a green double door, and the scene cuts to the exterior of the Springfield Dinner Theater, with its marquee reading "Guys and Dolls" above silhouetted gangsters holding guns and a red carpet leading to glowing double doors.
