The Simpsons, “Bart the Murderer” (season 3, episode 4), 8:00–8:14
What happens
A blue cartoon mouse in a blue cap, a cartoon-within-a-cartoon, fires a large black gun at a row of colourful, spotted cartoon characters lined up against an orange wall, and the blast leaves a flash and a ring of smoke. The mouse then stands over a heap of bloodied, fallen characters on the floor while the wall behind is pocked with bullet holes that spell out "THE" and then "THE END". A grey cartoon cat in a green coat, spotted with blood, stands with arms outstretched beside the fallen characters, and the smoke curls up from the gun.
