What happens

Homer, the bald, heavy man in a white shirt and blue pants, stands at the counter of the pet shop All Creatures Great and Cheap, facing a grey-haired shopkeeper with a moustache who wears a green shirt and blue pants and leans on the counter beside a sign reading "YOU PET IT YOU BOUGHT IT." The shopkeeper, who turns his head toward Homer, is stationed near a "RUBBER BONES 99¢" sign and a box of bones, while glass tanks of puppies, kittens, and rabbits and birdcages line the orange shelves behind them. The scene opens on a black screen with two pale round shapes, then cuts to the shop, where Homer walks up to the counter.
