What happens

Homer, Bart, Lisa and Marge, with Santa's Little Helper, are in the family living room, and the scene opens on an empty room with a red couch and a white cup on a table before the family appears. Homer strides in from the left with his arms out, Bart runs in from the bottom edge with his hands raised, and Santa's Little Helper, a brown greyhound, snarls and leaps over the couch as Lisa and Marge react with shocked faces on the right. The moment ends on a television showing the title card reading 'Created by Matt Groening,' which changes to 'Developed by James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Sam Simon' in the final frame. Notable objects include a sailboat painting, a purple lamp, and a TV with a VCR on top.
