The Simpsons, “Bart's Friend Falls in Love” (season 3, episode 23), 8:50–8:58
What happens
Bart, the spiky-haired boy in an orange shirt, appears in a wooden clubhouse beside a stack of comic books, first holding up an Elvis doll ad and then a Doomed Romance Comics cover showing a couple kissing while a woman watches from a doorway. The comic is lowered to reveal Milhouse, with blue hair, glasses, a lavender shirt and orange shorts, kissing a long-haired blonde girl in a pink dress, and the two hold hands as more comics lie scattered on the wooden floor beside a purple box.
