What happens

A crowd of one-off audience members in a dim purple-walled room looks on: a red-haired man in a green shirt, a man in a pink shirt gesturing with an open hand, a blonde woman in pearls and a red dress, and a Black man in a red jacket who glares and speaks, with a man in a white turtleneck and other onlookers behind them. The scene moves to a stage with red curtains and wooden floorboards, where a small spiky-haired boy in a dark suit and purple tie stands between two dark silhouetted heads in the foreground, while a circular screen above him shows an enlarged close-up of his face. He stands still with wide eyes as the audience members remain in the foreground, and the circular screen shows his face with a fixed grin.
