What happens

Apu, in a green robe with a black collar, leans on a purple railing at night, his expression shifting from glum to wide-eyed as he looks down and speaks. Below a stone bridge arch beside a dark brook, a heavy man with messy brown hair and a man in a tan fur-trimmed hat face each other, both with mouths open, and the man in the hat holds a small white object between them.
