What happens

Apu, the Kwik-E-Mart owner in a green cardigan, white trousers and black shoes, walks along a rainy suburban sidewalk at night, past a fence and a house with a pink door, toward a pink garage and a mailbox. He stops, covers his ears with both hands with his eyes squeezed shut and his teeth bared, then cups his hands beside his face and winces, while a small figure in green walks far off down the street and the rain falls around him.
