What happens

A grey, cratered moon hangs against a starry black sky in a black-and-white animated sequence, then a waving American flag on a pole appears and dissolves into the view. The flag fades in and out over the moon-era imagery, and it settles into a clear flag on a pole. Three spacesuited astronauts stand in front of the flag, the leftmost wearing glasses, and the scene is shown on a projector screen in a classroom. In the foreground, Lisa with her star-shaped spiky hair sits at a desk facing the screen, flanked by a small boy with spiky hair at left and a girl with curly dark hair at right, while the chalkboard above shows faint lettering.
