What happens

Lisa, the girl with star-shaped spiky hair in a red dress, presses a button on a boxy machine in the kitchen as a blue burst of energy erupts from a rounded metal pod on the checkered floor. In the living room, Homer and Marge sit on the brown couch with baby Maggie while a green glow flares from the pod's open doorway, and Bart, the spiky-haired boy in an orange shirt, steps out of it. The family then gathers on the rug beside the pod, which has a small screen and a paper slot, with a framed sailboat picture on the pink wall behind them.
