Ned Flanders stands in the foreground of a bleacher crowd, first glaring out with a fierce expression and then turning away from the stands

What happens

Ned Flanders, in his red cap, green sweater and whistle, stands in the foreground of a bleacher crowd, first glaring out with a fierce expression and then turning away from the stands. Behind him, Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, Apu, Mrs. Krabappel-style spectators, Milhouse-like and Smithers-like fans, and an elderly man with glasses clap and cheer in the stands. Flanders then turns his back to the viewer, facing the crowd, while the spectators keep cheering and the sky stays bright blue, and in the final moments he is seen again in profile with a stern look as the crowd continues to watch.
