The opening credits of The Simpsons show Mr. Burns, frail and stooped with a hooked nose, standing behind a long-haired man in black with red sunglasses and a bearded man with a moustache in a white hat and studded jacket who strums a red guitar, all seated in an airplane cabin. Credit text reads 'Creative Consultant MATT GROENING' and then 'Executive Creative Consultant JAMES L. BROOKS' over the plane scene. The scene then cuts to a dark animated movie theater with silhouetted audience members facing a blank screen, where a large-haired silhouette in the front row is seen, and a projector beam sweeps onto the screen, which reads 'GRACIE FILMS.' Next the screen shows 'IN ASSOCIATION WITH' followed by the golden '20th Century Fox Television' logo, reading 'A News Corporation Company' beneath it, against a sunset sky with searchlight beams.
