What happens

Marge Simpson, with her tall blue beehive and green dress, stands in the hallway holding a red telephone to her ear, a red cord trailing down, while Lisa, wearing a pearl necklace and red dress, stands beside her on the right. Marge's expression shifts from a flat, serious look to a wide grin and then back to a pursed, talking mouth as she speaks into the phone, raising her free hand near her face in the final frame. Behind them are an orange china cabinet holding plates, wine glasses and a small mug, a yellow curtained doorway, and a small wall-mounted rack on the left. Lisa remains mostly still, watching her mother with a bored, sideways glance.
