Mr. Burns and Smithers stand together in a richly furnished office with a red carpet and a large window

What happens

Mr. Burns, the frail, very thin, stooped old man with a hooked nose and grey hair at the sides, and Smithers, his thin assistant with glasses and a purple bow tie, stand together in a richly furnished office with a red carpet and a large window. Burns first faces Smithers, then holds out a cigar, and Smithers reaches toward it with an empty hand before accepting a small framed picture from Smithers' hands. Burns leans in and gestures with his hand, and Smithers, holding the framed photo, looks at it and shows an astonished expression. The framed photo shows Burns shaking hands with a dark-haired man in a high-collared jacket with a wide belt, and the frame is held up in the foreground by yellow hands.
