What happens

Homer, in an Uncle Sam hat and blue suit, stands on a platform beneath the banner "Can't someone else do it?" while a crowd of townsfolk with raised hands looks on, and he points, spreads his arms, then plants his hands on his hips. The scene moves to a night-lit building marked "DEBATE TONIGHT," then inside, where Homer speaks at a podium on a stage before a seated audience that includes Marge with her tall blue beehive, Bart in a green shirt, and a grey-haired woman, with an American flag at the side.
