What happens

Lisa Simpson stands behind a wooden podium on a red-curtained stage while a bald, bearded man with glasses, wearing a blue suit and a 'COMPTROLLER' sash, gestures with his arms and grins. In the audience, Homer in a blue suit and Marge with her tall blue beehive sit among rows of seated townspeople, with Bart and Maggie beside them, and several audience members look on with wide eyes. Early on the bearded comptroller stands center stage with arms spread, then strides forward toward the front while two men in suits hold a large oversized check at the back of the stage beside three empty blue chairs. Lisa remains at the podium, and the sequence ends with the comptroller standing with hands on his hips beside her.
