What happens

Homer, in a yellow protective suit with a visor and orange straps, stands at a control panel under a CAUTION sign while a glowing green rod flares near him and Mr. Burns and Smithers watch from the side, then Homer turns startled as the glow shifts. Marge, with her tall blue beehive and red beads, reads a MOM Monthly magazine at a checkout counter beside a blue register and a bottle of wine, while Maggie, with her pacifier and blue bow, stands at the counter as a clerk in a grey apron works behind it. Later Maggie spits out her pacifier from a shopping cart and Marge raises her hands and flinches, then squeezes her eyes shut and blocks it with her palms as the pacifier flies toward her.
