What happens

A crowd of news reporters and onlookers, including a brown-haired man in round glasses and a blue suit holding a microphone and recording gear, and Lisa at the left, gathers near Homer, who is bald and wearing a white glove. Homer holds a green carbon rod up to a car window, and the scene then shifts to confetti and American flags falling over a city street where people watch from windows and a crowd waits behind barriers. The rod is later left on the car's back seat, and a hand holding a remote points a television showing that same crowd, with the green rod resting on the seat in the image.
