About the episode

After an inanimate carbon rod wins Worker of the Week over him, NASA recruits Homer, hoping an ordinary man in space will lift its TV ratings. Barney wins the training contest but starts drinking again, so Homer flies with Buzz Aldrin and Race Banyon. Homer smashes an ant farm chasing his potato chips, the ants ruin the navigation, and a carbon rod jammed in the broken hatch saves them.
