What happens

Bart Simpson stands at a desk in a pink room, holding a telephone receiver to his ear with wide eyes, while an older woman with a tall blue-grey hairdo, black dress and pearl necklace stands on a white telephone base gesturing with her hands. Bart's mouth opens as he pulls the handset away from his head with its coiled cord stretched taut, and the scene then cuts to an outdoor picnic on a red checkered blanket under a tree, where the thin, bald Mr. Burns in a dark suit sips from a small glass beside Marge with her tall blue beehive. A wicker picnic basket, a cooler and a folding wooden table sit on the grass in front of a purple mountain.
