What happens

A yellow-faced figure in a black-and-white skunk costume with a long wooden nose gestures with one hand, then a white-bearded old sea captain in a navy jacket and white cap presses his face to a round porthole and wipes the fogged glass. The scene then opens onto a stage with red curtains and a spotlit bed, where Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Grampa lie under a blue blanket in red nightcaps and pajamas, with Marge's tall blue beehive and Lisa's spiky star-shaped hair visible.
