What happens

Homer, in a yellow protective suit with a visor helmet, grips a glowing green rod beside a Caution sign at the plant control desk, turning from the front to his back while Mr. Burns, frail and stooped with a hooked nose, and his thin assistant Smithers in glasses watch from behind a counter with a blueprint. The scene then moves to the Kwik-E-Mart, where Marge, with her tall blue beehive and red bead necklace, reads a Mom Monthly and Frosted Krusty Flakes magazine by the checkout while Maggie, with a pacifier and blue bow, sucks her pacifier and slides across the conveyor belt as a heavyset shopkeeper in an apron leans over the counter. Marge pushes a cart, looks on, and raises a hand in a stop gesture as Maggie peers up over the cart's edge, with the sign 'CHECKS' taped to the register.
