Apu and an old sea captain with a white beard, white cap, blue coat and pipe stand together on a wooden pier beside a harbor

What happens

Apu, the dark-skinned man with black hair in a green jacket and white pants, and an old sea captain with a white beard, white cap, blue coat and pipe stand together on a wooden pier beside a harbor. The captain holds a rolled paper as the two walk along the dock toward the fishing boat Sardine Queen, where several crewmen in caps, striped shirts and bare chests lean on the rail and watch. The captain climbs the gangway onto the boat while Apu waits at the edge of the pier, and the captain then stands at the top of the gangway speaking to the crew, with a red-capped deckhand and the boat's rigging and portholes behind them under a bright blue sky.
