About the episode

After his yo-yo smashes the class fish tank, Bart lands in detention, where he finds Edna Krabappel's lonely-hearts ad and answers it as a made-up suitor, Woodrow, with a photo of hockey star Gordie Howe. Seeing her cry alone after he stands her up at a restaurant, Bart feels guilty, and the Simpsons help him write Woodrow's farewell. Meanwhile, Homer's swearing while building a doghouse rubs off on Todd Flanders.
