About the episode

With Itchy & Scratchy's ratings slipping, studio head Roger Meyers Jr. adds a new dog character, Poochie, and Homer wins the audition to voice him alongside June Bellamy, the actress behind Itchy and Scratchy. Poochie's debut is a flop that viewers despise, and the staff want him gone. Homer records his own plea for a second chance, but the studio dubs in new dialogue that kills Poochie off instead.
